If you could do or be anything in the world, no questions asked and no exceptions, what would you choose? What does the voice in the back of your mind respond when you think about this? What have you yearned to do since you were a child? Questions such as these are perfect for uncovering your real passion in life – the unique gift that only you have to offer to the world.
We all have a reason for being here. We all have something unique to contribute to the world, yet not all of us know what this is, or how to achieve it. Finding your true passion is one of the most liberating gifts you can give to yourself, but sometimes it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what we are on this earth to do.
If you feel that life has more to offer, or even that you have more to offer life, take a look at these tips for finding out what your passion truly is and start living the life you have always wanted.
The only way you are going to really uncover your desires or dreams is to get to know yourself inside out. What would you do if you didn’t get paid? What mark do you want to leave on the world? What makes you happy? By asking yourself these questions you can start to detach the things you enjoy from the things you are truly passionate about.
If you have an inkling of where your passion lies, be that in writing, music or teaching, the only way you will know for sure is to try it. Start writing short stories or scripts; sign up to a teaching agency; spend some time working on a symphony and notice the feelings you have as you do so. If you feel anything from contentment to ecstasy chances are you’re on the right track, although, the more strongly you feel about it the more likely it is to be your passion.
Anything is Possible
Rather than cultivate our dreams from a young age, we’re led to believe that making a living out of our passion is not realistic. The saying goes that the few lucky people who manage it are the exception, but the truth is they are only the exception because they chose not to be the rule. If you can imagine living your dream, it can become your reality. Don’t fall into the trap of believing that you cannot make a living doing what you love.
Finding your true passion will not only give your life a greater sense of purpose but it will also increase the happiness you feel every day. So, why not follow the tips above and start discovering your purpose in life?
